Put Labor onto the National Labor Relations Board Actors' Equity is urging its members to call the White House to urge President Obama to use his executive power to appoint Craig Becker and Mark Pearce to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) during the Easter recess. Why is this important? It has been reported that the Senate and the White House arranged a deal to approve some of President Obama's nominees. Unfortunately, two of the nominees for seats on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), the body that can enforce the National Labor Relations Act and protect workers' rights, were not included in that deal. Craig Becker and Mark Pearce, highly respected labor lawyers whom President Obama nominated for seats on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), have not been included in the deal to fill committee and board vacancies. Meanwhile, the NLRB, tasked with protecting American workers' rights, has been handicapped with vacancies for the past two years putting workers at a huge disadvantage. Craig Becker has already received majority backing in the Senate and both nominees have won committee support, but their appointments have continually been blocked. What You Can Do
