AEA Election Results Postponed

Ballots To Be Counted On July 24, 2008

Due to a data error, the results of the 2008 AEA Council elections have been postponed. The ballots, which were scheduled to be counted on May 29, will now be tabulated on Thursday, July 24, 2008.

According to Mary Lou Westerfield, National Director, Policy, an error was discovered in the criteria used to select those Equity members qualified to vote in the 2008 election. Members who were qualified and did not receive a ballot will be notified and mailed ballots on Monday, June 9th. The deadline for voting for those ballots only will be 5 PM on July 23rd. All other qualifying ballots (paper and electronic) received by the original deadline have been impounded and will be counted on July 24th.

Results of the 2008 Council elections will be announced on AEA's website and published in the September issue of Equity News.

Vote Online in AEA's Elections Starting at 11:59 EDT on June 9, 2008

Ballots Due by Wed July 23rd

On Monday June 9, 2008, eligible AEA members who did not receive a ballot previously will be sent ballots for AEA's 2008 Council election. Any eligible member who previously registered to vote online will receive an email notifying them that the online voting will begin at 11:59 pm that same day. All biographies and candidate statements will be on the online ballot as well as your paper ballot. The deadline for voting for those ballots only will be 5 PM on July 23rd.

All other qualifying ballots (paper and electronic) received by the original deadline have been impounded and will be counted on July 24th.

Please note that you may still vote online, even if you did not already register to do so. Your paper ballot will contain your personal INTERNET LOG IN NUMBER. Use this number and your Member Number, which is on the front of your membership card, to vote online.
